Quick Setup

1. No signup needed. Prepend https://r.jina.ai/ to any URL
2. The API returns clean markdown stripped of navigation, ads, and layout
3. Free tier allows ~1,000 requests/day with no authentication

Configuration Notes

• Do not set the X-Token-Budget header. It causes 409 BudgetExceededError on most articles because typical articles are 10,000-40,000 tokens. A 4,000 token budget fails on almost everything.
• Extract full text and truncate in your own code instead. 8,000 characters is a good limit for feeding into Claude.
• The free tier has no per-token cost, so full extraction has no financial penalty.
